Good value, easy to use, minor speed bump

I grabbed Hello Bar during a special promotion, which gave me about 25% off an annual plan, making it a really good deal. I mainly use their call to action buttons and have dabbled with their inline forms. Setting everything up was pretty straightforward, even for someone not super tech-savvy like me. It's definitely helped boost my email sign-ups, which is exactly what I needed. My only small nitpick is that I've noticed a tiny bit of a slowdown on my site's loading speed since implementing it, but it's not a deal-breaker. Overall, I'm happy with the features and the price point I got.

Worth it with annual discount

I was looking for a good lead generation tool but didn't want to overspend. I got the annual billing discount for Hello Bar, which saved me 20%. That made the decision much easier. The 14-day free trial was also helpful to see if the features, especially the exit intent technology, would actually work for my site before committing. So far, it seems like a decent value for money, especially compared to some competitors I checked out. It's doing what I needed it to do without breaking the bank.

Easy lead capture

I set up a lead capture form with Hello Bar. It was quick and simple. The form works well on my site and is mobile optimized. Got some new sign-ups within a day.

Good features, some setup quirks

I used Hello Bar for a couple of months, mostly for the exit intent popups and some announcement bars on my WordPress site. The customization options were pretty robust, and I liked being able to A/B test different versions. It definitely helped capture more leads. Installation on WordPress was straightforward enough with their plugin, but I did have a small hiccup setting up custom targeting rules the first time around; the interface felt a bit less intuitive there. Support was responsive when I reached out, which was a plus. Overall, it's a solid tool for conversion optimization, but there's a slight learning curve for advanced features.

Thinking of trying this out for my new e-commerce store. does it slow down websites much? that's my main concern.

D Derek 1 month ago
Nah, I've used it on a few sites, never noticed any performance hit. They seem to keep things pretty lightweight.

It's pretty optimized. I mean, any popup tool adds *something* but Hello Bar is usually fine. Definitely not a major speed killer like some others I've tried. Plus, they have mobile-optimized stuff so it doesn't mess with that.

Are they legit? like, is this a real company or some fly-by-night thing?

C Cody 2 months ago
Yeah, they're legit. Been around for ages. Neil Patel owned them for a while too, if that helps.

Definitely legit. Used them for years on various projects. Never had an issue with service or anything.

Is there usually a Black Friday deal for Hello Bar? Don't wanna sign up now if there's a big discount coming soon.

T Todd K. 1 month ago
Yeah, they usually do. I think I got like 30% off last year during Cyber Monday.

Totally, they always have sales around Black Friday and Cyber Monday. It's usually a pretty good discount, sometimes 30-50% off annual plans from what I remember. Probably worth waiting a bit if you can.

So, how many websites can I use this on if I get a paid plan? I have a few different projects.

G Greg 2 months ago
Depends on your plan level, I think. You usually get more sites with the higher tiers.

It's not unlimited for sure, but the Pro plans let you connect a decent number of sites. Check their pricing page, it breaks down the number of domains for each subscription level. They're pretty clear about it.

Hey, I'm trying to decide between Hello Bar and OptinMonster. Anyone have experience with both and can tell me which is better for lead capture forms?

E Elena 1 month ago
For lead capture, both are good. OptinMonster might have a few more niche features, but Hello Bar is generally easier to get started with and still super effective. The templates are pretty solid.

I switched from OptinMonster to Hello Bar because I found the Hello Bar interface way more intuitive. Plus, their A/B testing is pretty solid. For just basic lead capture, it's definitely competitive.
